The first educational workshop on children, Earth and Dates was held on Qeshm Island.

The director of the Qeshm Island UNESCO Global Geopark announced holding the first educational workshop for children, Earth and Dates in Soheili village.

According to the public relations and international affairs departments in the Qeshm Free Zone Area, Alireza Amrikazemi announced this news and said that 70 students participated in this program with the collaboration of the members of the partnership network.

He listed the main topics presented in this educational workshop, such as the familiarization with the types of fresh dates, the tools used in date picking, and how to climb the palm tree, which was done by Ebrahim Khangah, the Qeshm local guide.

The director of the Qeshm Island UNESCO Global Geopark said this program was designed to introduce the goals of the international Geofood Network to familiarize the children of Qeshm with the climate of their homeland and the culture and ritual of date picking.

 

Mr. Amrikazemi mentioned the implementation of various programs like painting and teaching how to make handicrafts with palm leaves as other secondary programs implemented in this program.

According to AmriKazemi, the children’s treatment with traditional cookies made in the Holor village as one of the oldest baked sweets of Qeshm Island in an attractive package with the Geofood logo along with a Geofood pixel gift was one of the memorable parts of this program for children.
