آیین اختتامیه یازدهمین کنفرانس ژئوپارکهای جهانی یونسکو با حضور مقامات کشور شیلی و مدیران ارشد شبکه جهانی ژئوپارک‌ها برگزار شد. در این مراسم، کشور پرتغال به‌عنوان میزبان دوازدهمین کنفرانس جهانی معرفی گردید.
غرفه ژئوپارک جهانی قشم در یازدهمین کنفرانس ژئوپارکهای جهانی یونسکو، با حضور مدیران ارشد یونسکو و رؤسای ژئوپارکهای برجسته جهان، به نمادی از گسترش تعاملات میان فرهنگی و دیپلماسی علمی و فرهنگی ایران بدل شد؛ حضوری که ظرفیت‌های زمین‌شناختی و فرهنگی جزیره را معرفی کرده و جایگاه کشورمان را در عرصه تعاملات بین‌المللی ارتقا می بخشد.
مدیر ژئوپارک جهانی قشم، از برگزاری کارگاه‌های آموزشی و ارائه مقالات تخصصی در حاشیه یازدهمین کنفرانس ژئوپارکهای جهانی یونسکو در شیلی خبر داد.
مدیر ژئوپارک جهانی قشم، از انتخاب دکتر علیرضا امری‌کاظمی به عنوان نخستین نماینده ایران در هیئت اجرایی شبکه جهانی ژئوپارکهای یونسکو خبر داد.
یازدهمین کنفرانس ژئوپارکهای جهانی یونسکو با حضور شخصیت‌های برجسته علمی و اجرایی این حوزه در کشور شیلی آغاز به کار کرد.
