As part of the ongoing efforts to harness the potential of sport to strengthen the national brand of Qeshm Island UNESCO Global Geopark, a series of meetings was held among representatives of the Geopark, the Sports and Youth Directorate of the Qeshm Free Zone, and officials from several national sports federations.

Marking the occasion of Nowruz-e Darya (Sea Nowruz) and the beginning of the Maritime New Year (31 July), the Director of Qeshm Island UNESCO Global Geopark described this cultural tradition as a living heritage that continues to strengthen the enduring relationship between people and the sea, remaining vibrant and deeply rooted in the life of Qeshm Island.

By a decree issued by Adel Peighami, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Qeshm Free Zone Organization, Dr Ebrahim Rostam Gurani has been appointed Director of Qeshm Island UNESCO Global Geopark. The decree also expressed appreciation to Sajjad Eshgarf for his dedication and valuable service during his tenure in the role.

The Director of Qeshm Island UNESCO Global Geopark announced that construction of the Visitor and Information Centre at Chahkuh Gorge Geosite has reached 30 per cent completion. The project, with an investment of more than IRR 120 billion, is being implemented to strengthen tourism infrastructure and enhance visitor services at one of the Persian Gulf's most renowned geotourism destinations.
