Qeshm and Persian Gulf business relations workshop

The director of Qeshm Island UNESCO Global Geopark announced the holding of a trading workshop titled “Keshm and Persian Gulf Businees Relations” on the occasion of the Persian Gulf National Day.


The director of Qeshm Island UNESCO Global Geopark announced the holding of a trading workshop titled “Keshm and Persian Gulf Businees Relations” on the occasion of the Persian Gulf National Day.

According to the public relations and international affairs of the Qeshm Free Zone Area, Sajjad Eshgarf stated that the purpose of holding this workshop was to familiarize those interested with the rich history of Qeshm Island and considerable economic and cultural exchanges in the Persian Gulf and said that this educational workshop was taught by Dr. Ahamad Bazmandegan, who is an academic faculty member at Qeshm Payam-Noor University.

He continued that the topics of this educational workshop include the description of other names of Qeshm Island throughout history, the reason for naming Qeshm as Keshm, the familiarization with the types of maritime and coastal trade routes, the role and position of Keshm in the trade relationships of the Safavid, Afsharid, Zand and Qajar dynasties, the study of sea traffic maps and the classification of various types of vessels in the Persian Gulf in ancient times have been part of the educational topics.

According to Mr. Eshgarf, other topics such as the introduction of Nowruz of the sea or Nowruz of the Sayyad (fisherman), the calendar of Nowruz of the sea, and the various types of Nowruz of the sea, including Nowruz of the Persian Gulf, Nowruz of the Arabian sea, Nowruz of the Indian Sea, as well as introducing the types of important winds blown in the Persian Gulf region were raised in this educational workshop.

In the end, while greeting the National Day of the Persian Gulf, the Director of Qeshm  Island UNESCO Global Geopark reminded that without the Persian Gulf, the history of the south of Iran is meaningless, and these two names have been intertwined for thousands of years.

It should be noted that the educational workshop “Keshm and Persian Gulf Business Relations” was held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 in the Education an Interpretation Hall of the Qeshm Global Geopark Museum with the presence of a large number of interested people.
