The director of the Qeshm Island UNESCO Global Geopark announced the holding of a consultative meeting of the members of the Qeshm  Island UNESCO Global Geopark to familiarize the members with the principles, requirements, and frameworks of cooperation and also to introduce the advantages of being a member of this network.

According to the public relations and international affairs of the Qeshm Free Zone Area, Sajjad Eshgarf announced this news and said, while explaining the principles and standards of the assistants’ network, some issues such as the relationship between the main foundations of the UNESCO Global Geoparks and the Geopark assistants, the series of meetings to study the mutual relationship between the assistants’ network and social partners, were discussed during this consultative meeting.

He also mentioned that topics like the definition and goals of UNESCO Global Geoparks, the concepts of geological heritage and sustainable development, and the basic characteristics of goeparks were explained to the participants in the meeting.

According to the director of Qeshm Island UNESCO Global Geopark, at the end of the meeting, subjects like how to expand network communication and multi-directional interactions to accredit the activities of assistants’ network, promoting the global brand of Geopark and the prominent role of educational workshops in advancing this field were discussed.

It should be mentioned that at the end of this consultative meeting, along with some gifts from the assistants’ network of the Qeshm Island UNESCO Global Geopark, a haversack (cloth bag) with the logo of the Qeshm Island UNESCO Global Geopark was presented to the participants on the occasion of the Plastic Free Day.
