Director of Qeshm Island UNESCO Global Geopark stated: First “Sustainable disposables” Contest was held in the Educational Geopark Center located in south of the island in Dulab village with the intention of raising public awareness of the environmental hazards of plastic use.

Managers of Qeshm UGGp and Villuercas Ibores Jara UGGp signed a memorandum of understanding with the aim of Geotourism development at the Fitur (International Tourism Fair) in Madrid.
Students from the central district of Qeshm Island will be joined to Qeshm UGGp partners' Network by extending the memorandum of understanding between Qeshm UGGp and the Qeshm Education Department.
The agreement among Qeshm UGGp, Shahab Education Center, and the Hara Education Center extended for the fourth period to implement the Geopark Student Assistance Project in schools of these centers for all elementary, seventh-grade and tenth-grade students. Schools located near the Geosites of Qeshm UGGp are prioritized under this agreement.
Three retirees of Hormozgan province hiked 260 km in the way of some geosites of Qeshm UGGp in 9 days on foot.
Twelve elected students of the Book Reading Contest awarded by Qeshm UGGp Management for familiarizing with Geopark, rocks, and minerals concepts were honored by letter of appreciation.
The Geocycling race was held with accompanying the students of Ibrahim School of Table Village on the one-kilometer route of the Statue Valley to get more familiar with Geopark and with the slogan “Leave nothing but footprints in nature”.

Authorities of Qeshm Island UGGp and Dunhuang UGGp have signed an agreement to become sister geoparks in a move to strengthen for collaboration and exchanging their experiences.
At the last meeting of the National Committee of Geosciences and Geoparks of the National Commission of UNESCO of Iran, Engineer Alireza Amri Kazemi, Director of Qeshm Island UNESCO Global Geopark, won the absolute majority of votes as Vice Chairman of the Geoparks Committee.
