Soheili Green Table Initiative A Community-Based Partnership of Qeshm Island UNESCO Global Geopark

The tourism village of Soheili on Qeshm Island is implementing an innovative initiative entitled “Sofreh-ye Sabz-e Soheili” (“Soheili Green Table”), developed through a partnership between the Islamic Village Council and Qeshm Island UNESCO Global Geopark Management.

Designed to address waste management challenges while promoting sustainable tourism, the initiative is emerging as a successful model for other villages across Qeshm Island.

As part of the initiative, tourism establishments participating as Qeshm Island UNESCO Global Geopark Partners are adopting measures to reduce plastic consumption, improve waste management, and separate recyclable waste at source.
