Three Museums on Qeshm Island Recognised Among Iran's Top Museums


The Deputy for Cultural, Social and Tourism Affairs of Qeshm Free Zone Organization announced that Qeshm Island UNESCO Global Geopark Museum, Gouran Lenj-Building Museum, and Khal Private Museum were recognised among Iran's top museums at the 16th Top Museum Awards, organised by Iran’s National Committee of Museums (ICOM Iran).


The Deputy for Cultural, Social and Tourism Affairs of Qeshm Free Zone Organization announced that Qeshm Island UNESCO Global Geopark Museum, Gouran Lenj-Building Museum, and Khal Private Museum were recognised among Iran's top museums at the 16th Top Museum Awards, organised by Iran’s National Committee of Museums (ICOM Iran).

According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Qeshm Free Zone Organization, Edris Ramouz said that the selected museums were evaluated against 14 assessment criteria established by ICOM Iran and recognised across four categories: small, medium and large public museums, and private museums.

He added that each assessment criterion included three levels of recognition. Gouran Lenj-Building Museum was recognised in the Implementation of Physical Standards category among private museums.

Ramouz further noted that Qeshm Island UNESCO Global Geopark Museum received top recognition in the Creativity and Innovation category.

He also stated that Khal Museum, a member of Qeshm Island UNESCO Global Geopark Partners Network, was awarded third place in the Creativity and Innovation category among private museums.
