The Deputy Head of Tourism and Accommodation Committee of Qeshm Travel Services Headquarters announced a 50 per cent increase in visitor numbers to Qeshm Geopark Museum during the first five days of the Persian New Year compared with the corresponding period of the previous year.

According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Qeshm Free Zone Organization, Sajjad Eshgarf stated that Qeshm Geopark Museum is one of Iran’s most comprehensive wildlife museums in terms of biodiversity, housing more than 3,000 zoological specimens.

He noted that visitor numbers during the first five days of the Nowruz holiday period increased by 50 per cent compared with the corresponding period of the previous year.

He further explained that the museum’s comprehensive presentation of Qeshm Island—from evidence of the earliest human settlements to handicrafts, environmental heritage and biodiversity—has been one of the main factors attracting visitors.

According to Eshgarf, the museum’s location in the centre of Qeshm City and its accessibility have also contributed significantly to the increase in visitor numbers.

The Deputy Head of Tourism and Accommodation Committee of Qeshm Travel Services Headquarters added that the museum features a unique topographic model of Qeshm Island and its surrounding islands, accurately representing the natural landscape of the region.

He further stated that dedicated sections of the museum introduce geosites and tourism attractions of Qeshm UNESCO Global Geopark, including a reconstruction of the world’s longest salt cave, hawksbill turtle nesting sites, Qeshm Plateau with representations of Paleolithic human settlements, Hara forests, rocky coastlines and desert ecosystems, each presented in separate interpretive displays.
