According to Public Relations and International Affairs of Qeshm Free Area Organization, Nickolas Zouros, at the first international conference and UNESCO World-Geo-Parks Development Training-specialized Workshop in Qeshm Island, referring to the role of Qeshm's global geoparks in supporting local communities, said: Qeshm Global Geopark has a key role to play in supporting local communities and helping to improve the lives and livelihoods of local people.

According to Public Relations and International Affairs of Qeshm Free Area Organization, Nicholas Zurrus, at the first international conference and UNESCO World-Geo-Parks Development Training-specialized Workshop in Qeshm Island, referring to the role of Qeshm's global geoparks in supporting local communities, said: Qeshm Global Geopark has a key role to play in supporting local communities and helping to improve the lives and livelihoods of local people.

He expressed his satisfaction with holding the first international conference of geoparks in the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Qeshm beautiful island and added: For many years, our presence and efforts to explore the capabilities of Qeshm Geopark passes, and today, our attendance at the conference indicates the registration of these capabilities in Qeshm Island.

Chief of the global Geopark Network continued: With a high potential in Qeshm's Global Geopark, the responsibility of the members of the network will be multiplied by transferring information and using the power of local communities.

Zurrus, referring to the fact that the topic of geopark is not just topics related to rock and geology,said: The proper understanding of the forces of the earth and the formation of a geopark alone is not enough to stabilize and enter the global network of geoparks, but the ability of the region to develop local livelihoods, recognition of customs and the revival of local communities are among the important factors for achieving this privilege.
