Holor Geosite
Water storage and maintenance have always been crucial human challenges in arid and semi-arid regions. The mechanism of exploitation of water resources and the indigenous knowledge formed in connection with it show the central elements of local communities and the link between human society and nature. Chalao is built as a solution to store water. Holor's water storage wells are excavated next to a hill composed of an Erosion resistant limestone. This hill is located in a part of the Holler anticline. This structure is made by excavating several wells in the marl layer and connecting them.
