Hengam

Code : G31-35

Hengam Island is located in the south of Qeshm and is 2 km away. This island is in fact a salt dome that is formed by the vertical ascent of salt layers from a depth of 12 km. Due to the nature of salt domes, various kinds of sedimentary rocks, igneous, and even granite rocks are visible at the island’s surface. Another natural and beautiful landscape of this island is the rocky shores and the effects of corrosion and excoriation caused by the simultaneous erosion of drilling marine organisms and the impact of sea waves. The formation of normal faults in the coastal rocks has also led to the collapse of the floors and the Graben and semi-Graben structures and has created classical geological phenomena on a small scale.
