The beautiful beach of Shib-Deraz village is one of the several suitable places for laying Hawksbill sea turtles in the Persian Gulf. Each year, this species of turtles come to this beach to lay from March to late spring. Since the Hawksbill sea turtles include endangered species, the protection of their spawning beach has been implemented since 2002 by the Environment Protection Department of Qeshm Free Zone Area in cooperation with the local community and GEF/SGP. The project is one of the world's most successful environmental projects and one of the top 10 environmental projects worldwide. Due to the Spawning time at night, visitors will be able to visit the site with the coordination of the site officials and according to the environmental and protection criteria.
