The director of Qeshm Island UGGp announced that the training course on the geological interpretation of geosites of Qeshm Island UGGp was held in a theoretical and practical way.


The director of Qeshm Island UGGp announced that the training course on the geological interpretation of geosites of Qeshm Island UGGp was held in a theoretical and practical way.

According to the public relations and international affairs of the Qeshm Free Zone Area, announcing this news, Sajad Eshgarf said that the theoretical training of this course was held in the Mangrove Geopark Visiting Center of Soheili village.

He continued that the other parts of this training course included a practical visit and on-site interpretation of the geosites of Namakdan, Shur Valley, Geolink, and Chahkuh Gorge.

According to Mr. Eshgarf, 24 employees working in geosites and tourism guides who are members of the assistants’ network of Qeshm Island UGGp participated in this training course to improve the quality of tourism services and acquire more skills.

According to this news, the inner structure of the earth, the tectonic movements of the plates, the formation of mountains and valleys, the types of rocks, folds, fractures, and faults, and the concept of time in geology were the educational topics of the first part of this training course. In the second part, the formation of Qeshm Island, the rock types, and the formation of geosites of Qeshm Island UGGp, especially geosites of Namakdan, Chahkuh Gorge, and Statues Valley, were presented.
