On the occasion of International Tourist Guide Day, and under the auspices of Qeshm Global Geopark, the ornithology and birdwatching training workshop was held on Qeshm Island.
The director of the Qeshm Island UNESCO Global Geopark announced the holding of the ornithology and birdwatching training workshop on the occasion of International Tourist Guide Day with 30 participants.


According to the public relations and international affairs of the Qeshm Free Zone Area, Sajjad Eshgarf congratulates all tour guides and activists on this international day and said that the geographical location of Qeshm Island near the equator and the mangrove forests has made this area attractive and suitable for migratory birds, which can be seen in abundance in the second half of the year. He mentioned birdwatching as one of the least noticed capacities in the country and added that This workshop is designed to make tour guides more familiar with this potential and motivate them to host specialized tourists.

According to Eshgarf, this workshop was held with 30 participants, including local guides, travel agencies, and nature photographers. Also, educational chapters such as familiarization with bird structure and bird behavior, migratory birds and the reasons for migration, the introduction of Qeshm birds, and bird-watching principals were raised.

In the end, the director of Qeshm Island UNESCO Global Geopark called for the attention of tour guides and activists to the ecological potential of geosites, especially the mangrove forest and said that with the cooperation of tourist guides in the second half of the year, the presence of tourists can contribute to the economic improvement of the local community.
