Watching meteor shower on the sky of Qeshm Island / three beautiful nights observing comets in Gouri village on Qeshm Island

According to Public Relations of Qeshm Free Zone Organization, Mr Hamidreza Mohsenpour said that one of the most important annual meteor showers is Perseids which started a few nights ago and can be observe until the dawn of Sunday, August 13.
He added that watching this spectacular phenomenon does not require any special equipment and when you get away from brightly lit areas and stare at the sky, you will be able to enjoy a breathtaking view of this meteor shower.
He also mentioned that Qeshm Geopark holds regular workshops on the island in order to educate people and specially children on astronomical phenomena, comets, geological phenomena and cosmology.
Mr. Mohsenpour also said that thanks to well-organized plan for observing the recent meteor shower on the island, which was done with the joint efforts of local activists, village administrations and Islamic City Councils of Gouri, Darkoo, and Moradi villages and also Persian Gulf Institute of Cosmology, many people and visitors welcomed this event.
Qeshm Island covers an area of 1500 km2 and due to its clear and cloudless sky, it is one of the best locations in the country for observing stars other heavenly bodies.
