Memorandum of Understanding Between Qeshm Island UNESCO Global Geopark, and Local Council of Soheili village

Recognizing the importance of joint cooperation in achieving sustainable development goals and improving the livelihoods of the local community, the Qeshm Island UNESCO Global Geopark and the local council of Soheili village have reached an agreement on the following:

The purpose of this Memorandum of Understanding is to enhance bilateral cooperation in the following areas:
• Achieving sustainable development goals
• Enhancement of geotourism activities.
• Conserving the environment and natural resources

Recognizing the importance of joint cooperation in achieving sustainable development goals and improving the livelihoods of the local community, the Qeshm Island UNESCO Global Geopark and the local council of Soheili village have reached an agreement on the following:

 

1. The purpose of this Memorandum of Understanding is to enhance bilateral cooperation in the following areas:

·         Achieving sustainable development goals

·         Enhancement of geotourism activities.

·         Conserving the environment and natural resources

 

2. The parties agreed to expand their cooperation in the following areas:

·         Developing rural tourism plans with the involvement of the local

·         Improving the livelihoods of the local community and empowering them

·         Establishing suitable tourism infrastructures in the village

·         Organizing festivals and events

·         Developing training programs

·         Implementing community-based environmental protection projects

·         Sharing knowledge and experiences in various areas of rural development
