Nearly 34,000 Visitors Explored Qeshm Island UNESCO Global Geopark Geosites during the Nowruz Holiday Period

The Director of Qeshm Island UNESCO Global Geopark announced that 33,949 domestic and international visitors explored the geopark's main geosites during the final days of the Persian calendar year 1403 and the beginning of the 1404 (2025) Nowruz holiday period.

Between 15 March and 22 March 2025 (25 Esfand 1403 to 2 Farvardin 1404), visitors toured the geopark's main attractions, including Stars Valley Geosite, Tandis-ha Valley Geosite, Namakdan Salt Complex Geosite, Chahkuh Gorge Geosite, and Qeshm Island UNESCO Global Geopark Museum.

Eshgarf noted that Stars Valley Geosite attracted the highest number of visitors during this period, receiving 17,382 visits.

He added that Chahkuh Gorge Geosite ranked second with 13,875 visitors, followed by Namakdan Salt Complex Geosite with 1,050 visitors and Tandis-ha Valley Geosite with 889 visitors.

A further 753 domestic and international visitors visited Qeshm Island UNESCO Global Geopark Museum during the same period.

For comparison, during the corresponding period in 1403 (2024), Stars Valley Geosite welcomed 19,526 visitors; Namakdan Salt Complex Geosite received 1,496 visitors; Chahkuh Gorge Geosite recorded 10,747 visitors; Tandis-ha Valley Geosite attracted 924 visitors; and Qeshm Island UNESCO Global Geopark Museum welcomed 422 visitors.
