The director of Qeshm Island UGGp announced that the training workshop was held on the recognition and importance of native species of Qeshm Island with more than 90 high school students in the educational center of Qeshm Island UGGp in the west of Qeshm Island.
Published on : Mar 9, 2024According to the public relations and international affairs of the Qeshm Free Zone Area, announcing this news, Sajad Eshgarf said that the main points of this educational workshop included expressing the importance and benefits of trees, the importance of preserving and revitalizing native plants, the time of seed collection and creating a primary guide for planting seeds and plants of native species in each region of Qeshm Island.
He also continued that in this educational workshop, there are topics about decreasing the effects of climate change, how plants breathe, the role of them in lessening damages caused by floods, reducing soil erosion, increasing underground water resources, the role of trees in producing oxygen and purifying the air, the native trees benefits for wildlife and expanding biodiversity explained to the students.
The director of Qeshm Island UGGp stated that this program was held in cooperation with the Management of Urban and Rural Affairs of the Qeshm Free Zone Area on Arbor Day to increase awareness and knowledge of the students, promoting the culture of environmental protection and preservation and paying attention to vegetation, especially the native species of Qeshm Island and at the end of the workshop, students were given a sapling from the native trees of the region.
