A meeting was held with researchers and authors from Qeshm Island

The director of the Qeshm Global Geopark said that a meeting of researchers and writers from Qeshm Island took place on National Research Day to introduce active researchers and new works and publications.


The director of the Qeshm Island UNESCO Global Geopark said that a meeting of researchers and writers from Qeshm Island took place on National Research Day to introduce active researchers and new works and publications.

According to the public relations and international affairs of the Qeshm Free Zone Area, Alireza Amri Kazemi stated that addressing the knowledge, especially indigenous and local knowledge in the region, is one of the primary missions of UNESCO Global Geoparks, and Qeshm Island UNESCO Global Geopark also seeks to revive and properly implement this matter.

He continued that one of the issues that Qeshm Island UNESCO Global Geopark pays special attention to is supporting writers, researchers, and master theses.

The director of Qeshm Global Geopark emphasized the necessity of using the capacities of the local knowledge and communities and added that, toward balanced development and in line with the interests of the Qeshm people, conducting specialized research and studies and the practical usage of its results can be effective.

At the end of the report, Mr. Amri Kazemi said that recognizing the importance of research and using its solutions, studying the effective indicators in research activities, and using the local knowledge and capacities of the local community to solve the problems were part of topics that were presented and discussed in this meeting.  

Note that the meeting of researchers and writers of Qeshm Island occurred in collaboration with the management of Qeshm Global Geopark, the Institution of Qeshm Public Libraries, and the Persian Gulf Photographers Association. In this meeting, Alireza Amri Kazemi, director of Qeshm Global Geopark, Abdolreza Dashti Zadeh, head of the Cultural Heritage department of Qeshm Free Zone Area, Sedig Nasiri, head of the Environment Department of the city, Morteza Fakheri, translator, writer and researcher, and Ahmad Bazmandegan Khamiri, faculty member of the Payam Noor University of Qeshm presented discussions about the necessity and importance of research. Also, on the sidelines of this meeting, a collection of works and collections of the Qeshm Island researchers has been exhibited.
