According to Public Relations and International Affairs of Qeshm Free Zone Organization, Alireza Amri Kazemi, as head of the specialized section and member of the Scientific Committee of the eighth Biennial Conference of UNESCO World Geoparks in Italy, said: In these articles, with such titles, the extension of the territory of Qeshm's global geopark including the islands of Hormuz and Lark and the improvement of geo-Prodaca, the consolidation of the economies of local communities and the promotion of geoparks, the experiences of this collection are presented for the balanced development of the island.
He added: Geopark Qeshm, as the centerpiece of geoparks in the Middle East and West Asia, is required to cooperate in creating new geoparks.
Qeshm Global Geopark Management, announced the presentation of two articles, entitled Geological Potential Training Program, in the proposed geopark of Aras, and the introduction of Tabas proposed geopark capacities, said: The introduction of Qeshm's Global Geopark as a successful model, in the speeches of the UNESCO World Environment Program secretary and UNESCO World Network of Geospatial Network leaders, is another honor for this collection and Qeshm Island.
According to Amiri Kazemi, attending the meetings of the Council and the Global Network Assignment Team, and participating in the preparation of the executive plan, and presenting the strategic activities of the next three years of the island geoparks, have been other sections of the Qeshm's Global Geopark management activities at the conference.
He continued: At the 8th UNESCO World Biodiversity International Biennial Conference, which lasted for 10 days in Italy, more than 600 participants from 140 geoparks in the world were present.
Qeshm Global Geopark Management, referring to 500 papers submitted to the conference, stated: Of the papers transmitted, 200 articles were given for lectures and 120 articles for the poster.
Qeshm Global Geopark has officially returned to the UNESCO World Geoparks family after four years away from the UNESCO World Web, with the efforts of its management and its personnel, the cooperation of the Qeshm Free Zone Organization and local communities in April 2017.
